Crest COVID-19 Response Recognized in PRAL Cypress Awards

Here at Crest, we own doing the right thing and we celebrate the opportunities we have to win together. On Friday, March 12, the Public Relations Association of Louisiana (PRAL) recognized our team at their annual Cypress Awards event for doing just that.

We believe in building a culture of trust rooted in vulnerability-based leadership and transparency throughout our organization, and this was never more apparent than during 2020. Like every business last year, our entire company had to rise to the challenge and adapt to a COVID-19 workplace. Our team members across the nation were balancing staying productive while working remotely, protecting their families, and attempting to stay connected like never before.

During that time, the Crest Marketing & Communications Team was able to provide communication and engagement at a level beyond what we thought was possible. Throughout the pandemic’s initial phases, they crafted a communication strategy, policies and procedure information kits, daily messages and videos from Kenny Robison, our CEO and Owner, that provided updates and encouragement to our teams. Even when the majority of our employees returned to the office, they continued to increase engagement across all of our business units. These efforts were recognized and appreciated within our teams, but they also received the highest honor, Best of Show, from the 2021 PRAL Cypress Awards.

The PRAL award programs throughout the region recognize outstanding communication and public relations work. They are judged by a panel of accredited professionals and rooted in research, sound strategic planning and metric-driven results.

“To have this type of recognition is a testament to the skills of our team and the value Crest and the business units place in building culture, transparency and teamwork within our organization,” says Carol Hendrix, Chief Human Resources Officer for Crest Industries.

The Crest team also won distinction for other projects they implemented during 2020 including an Award of Merit for DIS-TRAN Packaged Substations’ internal campaign launching their purpose and core values and an Award of Excellence for the 2020 State of the Business Meeting.

“We submitted entries with the intent to get feedback on our work and an outside perspective from marketing and public relations professionals, and we are absolutely honored to be recognized and praised,” shares Lindsey Launius, Crest Marketing & Communications Director. “It’s an excellent example of how when a team strives for continuous improvement, the end result can be winning together.”
