Beta Engineering Highlighted for Innovation in Substation Design

May 26, 2026 - Overland Park, Kansas - Beta Engineering's work in Gas-Insulated Substations (GIS) has earned international recognition for innovation and problem solving.

The Hickory GIS Substation was featured as the cover story of T&D World’s May issue. This is a major industry recognition highlighting the research, planning, collaboration and work behind this project. The 138/13.2kV facility doubles power capacity for North Dallas suburb Denton, TX, while blending seamlessly into the area with an architectural façade inspired by Denton’s historic downtown.
